Description:

The tastes of Puerto Rico are delivered with freshness and authenticity at this bastion of informal Latin dining. In fact, Borinquen is famous for being the home of the Jibarito, which offers a contemporary take on the beloved Puerto Rican Plantain Sandwich. Owner Peter Figueroa has added steak, roast pork, chicken or ham to the recipe, along with cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo and garlic. With those finishing touches, Borinquen's top-selling sandwich was born. This specialty has been imitated but never equaled at any other Latin eatery. Nevertheless, it is only one of the many marvelous options offered at Borinquen. To dress up Sandwiches and Jabaritos, there are sides of Stuffed Potato Balls, Cod Fish Patties, and Fried Plantain & Pork Rolls. You'll also find an irresistible lineup of Puerto Rican Soups and Stews that make more than a meal.
